Here are a few helpful guidelines:

1. Know the Waist–Hip Balance

For non-stretch pants, the relationship between your waist and hips matters more than ever:

If your hips are significantly larger than your waist (by 20 cm / 8″ or more), it can be better to size for hip comfort first, then tailor the waist if needed Keryn has belt loops to aid this.

If your waist and hips are closer in measurement, sizing closer to your waist measurement usually gives a more flattering and comfortable fit.

Linen is a natural fibre, and like all natural fibres, it can pill, especially in high-rub areas. Think inner thighs and the classic leg-crossing moment. This isn't a flaw or a failure; it's simply the fabric responding to friction as the fibres gently loosen at the surface. A quick pass with a lint roller (or fabric shaver) will keep things looking fresh, and after a number of washes the loose fibres settle down, meaning pilling reduces over time. Linen grows up. Just like us.
