A Tall Woman’s Guide to Linen
How tall women can finally enjoy linen that fits, flatters, and lasts.
Linen has always been the fabric of summer - cool, breathable, easy on the skin - but for tall women, finding linen that properly fits has been a saga worthy of its own multi-season TV series. Too short, too sheer, too creasy, too “this would be cute if I were 5’4”. You know the story.
Our Tall Woman’s Guide to Linen Pants lays out everything tall women need to know about choosing linen that respects your height and your life. Think of it as a cheat sheet with better tailoring.
And proudly - we’ll also introduce the two pieces leading the linen revolution in tall womenswear: Bron (Tall Women's Linen Bermuda Shorts) and the upcoming Keryn (Tall Women's Ultra Wide-Leg Linen Pants).
But first, let’s talk linen itself.
Why High-Quality Linen Matters
At Miss G & Me, we use traceable European-grown flax linen - in Holland actually, then milled in China in a facility certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100.
And before a single bolt is approved, we put every contender through a ruthless wash-and-wear testing process.
Why?
Because not all linen is created equal.
In fact, before arriving at the linens used for Bron and Keryn, we tested three other linen qualities.
None of them passed our test. I'm told mainstream height lasses are mostly ok if thier pants shrink a little - you and I know differently.
One of the tested linens, may it rest in peace, shrank 12cm in length after washing. Twelve. Entire. Centimetres. A disaster for anyone, but for a tall woman? Catastrophic.
By the time we landed on our final choice, the sampling and testing alone had cost over $1500 - just in fabric and sampling. There is no real way to calculate the value of the time delay, but it was the only way to confidently offer linen that would not betray tall women the moment they sat down, washed it, or dared to breathe near it.
Miss G & Me's choosen OEKO-TEX® linen makes the cut because:
It stays soft without collapsing
It resists harsh creasing, ok so it won't be bamboo smooth and yes, you'll want to iron it for nice occasions..
It keeps its colour
It respects your skin
It arrives to you pre shrunk - no unexpected surprises!
And most importantly - it holds its length and shape. Our choosen linen is subjected to a specific treatment to reduce shrinkage during washing. This process involves stretching, shrinking, and fixing the woven cloth to minimize shrinkage after washing
Tall women shouldn’t lose 12cm of their pants to a washing machine ever again.
Premium linen doesn’t just feel good. It stays good.
A Tale of Two Tall Linen Essentials
Bron – Tall Women’s Bermuda Shorts
“Shorts can be harder to fit than pants.”
Every tall woman knows this. And honestly? They’re right.
Getting shorts right for tall proportions is like solving a geometry puzzle no one else bothered to try:
Too-short inseam = accidental boy-leg surprise
Too-short rise = low rise/muffin-top misery
Size up for length = the infamous crotch sitting half way down your thigh situation (we do not speak of this enough)
Bron Bermuda Linen Short exists to end all that.
What Makes Bron Different
13-inch inseam - a true tall inseam that hits tall lasses just on the knee
Classic-stripe linen - breathable, durable, refined
Elastic waistband with belt loops - comfort + polish
Side + back pockets - smooth, functional, never bulky
Machine washable - tested for zero shrinkage (we recommend in our wash bags in cold water, line dry in shade)
Low-crease linen - real life friendly
Bron is the summer short tall women have never been offered before: one that gets the proportions right without adding bulk, tightness, or that unfortunate “why is it riding up my thigh?” situation.
Oh, and ever so classy - 6' Rose sharing
Shorts fit beautfully. Love the length, just on my knee. Also the striped fabric...perfect.
Keryn – Tall Women's Ultra Wide-Leg Linen Pants
Keryn Ultra Wide Leg Pant is everything tall women ask for in a linen pant - length, drape, comfort, and actual sophistication.
Key Details
36-inch inside leg - at last, a true tall inseam
European mid-weight linen - drapey, breathable, soft
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified
Elastic waistband with belt loops
Side seam + back pockets
Machine washable, no shrinkage
Low-crease finish
Keryn gives tall women a wide leg that doesn’t balloon them, a rise that doesn’t cut in, and enough length for flats or a platform moment.
How Tall Woman Can Choose the Right Inseam
Most tall women were raised in the wild, sewing extra panels into jeans or pretending ankle-breeze was “a look.”
But inseam actually matters.
General Tall-Woman Inseam Guide
Shorts: 13-15 inches
Full-length pants: 35-37 inches
Extra-long: 38+ inches
Your clothing should meet your limbs where they are, not where the fashion industry thinks they should be.
Tall Women’s Linen Wardrobe Basics
Your core linen pieces should:
Be designed for your height, not hems let down and hope
Have longer rises
Include true tall inseams
Use mid-weight European linen
Be OEKO-TEX® certified
And above all - survive a washing machine
Bron and Keryn are created exactly this way.
Final Thoughts: Linen That Lets Tall Women Wear Beautifully Long Pants
Tall women deserve to feel good in their clothes - not tug, adjust, or compromise.
Great linen helps you move, breathe, and carry yourself with an ease you may never have felt before… because so few clothes were ever designed with you in mind.
And let me remind you - 'Elsa', our Tall Women's Bucket hat is also created from the same excellent quality linen.
And all of them bring you back to yourself - the tall woman who moves through the world with ease, assurance, and fabrics that finally keep up with her.
